The Music Dissectors is a podcast devoted to one thing: in-depth reviews of albums old and new. Each episode a guest chooses an album that has had a big impact on their life, and we take it from there.
The Hosts
David Holloway is a very part-time musician, composer and freelance writer who has been involved in podcasting for 9 years. He’s always wanted to do a music-focused podcast and this is the end result.
Matthew JC Powell is an esteemed journalist, editor and one hell of a music fan / tragic. Those who know him also know of his love of The Beatles, but his music knowledge extends a long way beyond that. Matthew has hosted two successful podcasts before and is looking forward to jumping back into podcasting after a little time away.
Want To Be A Guest?
The most important part of the podcast are our guests. If you have an album you’re passionate about and would like to spend 30-60 mins talking with us about it, then drop us a line. You don’t need to be a musician to be a guest – we like talking about albums with anyone passionate about a particular release. You also don’t need to do huge research – that’s our job. It’s more about your love of the album and why.
If you are a musician or music producer, yes we will happily link to and discuss your latest work, as long as you still have an album outside of your work that you’re happy to discuss. Check our episode list for examples of albums previously chosen.
